Are you looking for great places to set up parasitic pages on trusted domains? Of course you are!

Look no further let me give you my top seven recommendations. All of my top recommendations are indexed and poorly policed thus allowing you the maximum amount of time to promote your page.

Bebo.com – Member section
- This place is great for setting up profiles and linking back to the site you need a link to. Seems to stay fairly well indexed and not policed well.
Propellor.com
- Member section Another place were anyone can seemingly set up a profile and link willy nilly all over the web.
Imeem.com
- More member pages being used to spam offers and links to other parasitic pages.
Boards.WebMD.com
- Member Profiles again being used to promote offers. This one is seems especially good to promote pharmaceutical spam since the WebMD name is known and well trusted in the general public.

- Hey look at that more user pages that are easy to use to spam! Am I noticing a trend here?

- This one is a tough one to fault. The previously mentioned ones I fault the owners for not adding noindex and noarchive the member pages. Bloglines is offering free websites which means editing or noindexing them is out of the question. Still they could do more to police their space. At anyrate until they do enjoy free reign there to promote ehat you like.

- My last but most important pick for places to host parasitic pages….. Google Notebooks! Even if google analyzes and bans the spam from the index the simple fact that its on a google domain is important. You can leverage the trust that the google name brings to promote any offer you can imagine.

Getting the pages indexed and a backlink to the site you want to rank well.

I have registered aÂ bunch of domains that were dumb. Lots of random combinations of related keywords that made no sense in the hopes that I could “SEO” it. I mean seriously… lol.. what was I thinking? I have bought lots of domains with dashes in them which I think are bad as a rule of thumb for organic but are great for PPC. Sadly most of the ones I purchased were so I could once again.. .”SEO” it. Thank god I am not drinking that koolaid anymore.

Some of my more interesting purchases…

iLoveToPoop.com – I figured I’d make a poop report type site. What can I say I have a really low brow sense of humor. Registered this awhile ago then my son found out about it and decided he wanted it. It was his first site, he thinks the name is embarrassing now but at the time he thought it was the funniest thing ever.

AlCaydah.com – I envisioned this being a video blog of some average joe type middle aged guy who happened to have an unfortunate name, Al P. Caydah. I dunno I still think the ideas funny but it requires an odd sense of humor. i never took this anywhere because the work required to do it right would be to much for me alone.

Hacklactica.com – Honestly I love this name and I still might make it into something. I see this as a place for promoting scripts and programming news.

Jowlbangers.com – It was on the Daily Show as an adult site for people who loved men with large jowls. I registered it a minute after they mentioned it. It was funny.. then nothing came of it.

MattCuttsFacts.com – I made a Chuck Norris facts type of spoof site for Matt Cutts. Its silly… totally my sort of thing If you have any interesting Matt Cutts facts please post them. ;-)

Web-Professor.net – I hate my domain name. It has a dash.. its a dot net… its terrible. Man I was bad at buying domains back then.

Maybe I am just bad at buying domains…. what purchases have you ended up regretting or laughing at later?

I am really loving Yahoo groups for gaining quality traffic. These groups are just a treasure trove of focused individuals who are obsessed about one topic or the other. Even better most of these guys are natural sharers to quality sites. If you can make some sort of link bait that appeals to a group they will distribute your link far and wide which will lead to your site being discovered by another Yahoo group.. and another and another until you run the gamut of the niche your site is in.

Is working very well for the adult stuff I have… you might want to try it.

Manipulation Techniques inspired by Barry Schwartz

Barry Schwartz gave a very original talk at Google on how increased choice leads to a decreased user experience.Â The talk is relevent to internet marketers and web developers. Professor Schwartz research points out how and why people become less happy with increased options. He also points out how people act when they feel they have too many choices. The ProfessorÂ then suggested several techniques that can help lead people to certain choices and why they worked.

Some of the techniques discussed:

Bombarding the user with an overwhelming number of options then provide preselected solutions. The preselected solution could be high margin items or things that will make the user happier depending on your goals.
Making default choices for a user that are in their best interest to increase the satisfaction of the user and benefit you.
Acting as a intermediary for a user by making a decision of them. This can increase their satisfaction by removing the decisions from their hands and the regret of choosing the wrong thing.

The lecture is a little over an hour and its great with lots to digest. Make sure you watch it for yourself.

The PPC doctor is in and the diagnosis is good. I am a little over a $100 a day via PPC and its increasing everyday. By the end of next month, barring any suprises, I am positive I’ll be at some ridiculous amount per day. Up until now most of my monetization was via consulting.. let me tell you this is a lot more fun. Thats not to say that there haven’t been a few bumps.

Notes from the road..

Yahoo Panama, not so bad but it could be better. With no ability to add large amounts of keywords I was forced to rethink my strategy with this. So far I am just taking proven winners and running with them on this network. Seems to be working well enough.
MSN Adcenter… awesome little gem thats great for testing. I make a money off of this but not much, the testing ability is what makes it super awesome. Since they are pretty liberal with the number of keywords you can add and the prices are low you can test a crap ton of words
Adwords.. still baffled.. at the time of this writing 99.8% of my keywords are deactived for search. Over time it only got worse. I am thinking that I need to customize ads for groups of keywords based on a root word they all contain. I’ll likely be getting to that later.
You need a lot of data to make it work initially… I don’t think I could have done this without my own kickass keyword database. Paying someone else for that data would have been prohibitive.
Adsense makes a great way to monetize if the user doesn’t want to convert on your main offer
Landing pages.. the simpler the better.
Conversion effeciency is important to monitor but if you don’t have cutting edge analytics thats ok as long as you have some sort rudimentary automated analytics going on. Whats important is that your making money consistently you can go back and tweek later

My goal is to blow through a two or three hundred dollars tommorow. I figured I’d start my PPC adventure with dating since valentines day is coming up. The field seemed to make sense and my kickass affiliate manager suggested it to when I queried him from starting points. So easy peasy right ? Go get keywords, do some market research, slap together a lander and your off to the races right ?

Well no not really.. finding the right face for my lander is proving to be a pain. My research shows that my audience is likely to be middle aged black men and women. Ever try to find a good selection of black female models on iStockPhoto ?

Touted by Seth Godin as the next million dollar homepage mmmzr, a ponzi and web 2.0 mashup, promises to double your advertising money by paying out to you from the proceeds of those that “advertise” after you. I am sure it will be as wildly successful as all new ponzi schemes.
