Thats right some simple changes could increase Facebooks user base by 436%![1] All they need to do is add a text only version version of the site. Currently they are losing people who use browsers that aren’t the “officially supported” (as per their error page). What the hell does “officially supported” mean anyways? Since when did we start supporting browsers and not supporting standards?
At what point did someone on the dev team there say “Hey lets ignore the most basic tenant of the web by making things inaccessible!“. Then someone else chimed in “You know… lets also filter out the browsers that don’t meet our standard“. Super idea!
