Threadwatch Closes, where to next?

Threadwatch closed today and its a bummer to see the place where I really got my start go. NickW gave me the first real exposure this blog had with his link to my domain hunter tool. Its sad that its gone as it was great place for making contacts and discussion.

Some have taken to calling it the watercooler site of search as it was a free for all. It avoided how to discussions and tutorials instead focusing on dissecting the daily news and voicing alternative opinions. Even the most heated arguments were conducted in a fashion that was intellectually superior to similar discussions on rival forums.

I don’t know where I’ll be going next.. maybe no where.. maybe I’ll start a private forum of my own. Who knows.

Anyways…

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Definitely a sad day. It was a good 2+ year run though. I’m with you, there is now a gaping whole in my rss.

Hey Scott :) There seems to be three places for TW refugees at the moment. JasonD is working on w3wisdom.com (using Google Groups atm), The Founder has contributed AOSEP.com and EarlGrey has opened Threadwatcher.com

Not sure if any of these can replace TW but I’ll be keeping an eye on them over the next few weeks.
