I was reading a peice at the Wall Street Journal about the commoditization of online advertising. It was interesting and suggested that the future of web advertising may be trading in in bundled units like other commodities. With behavioral targeting I think something like that is becoming more likely as the big web properties will be better at targeting advertising than the actual marketers thus making it inefficient for the average marketer to try to handle it themselves. Who knows what that will lead to but its an interesting side development that I am going to be researching more.
