Thread Hijacking

Just an observation…

Aaron Wall, of seobook fame, posted a tip on finding linkable topics a last week. After some thought it occurred to me this is the perfect description for the Threadwatch strategy of content aggregation.

  • Find topic thats already popular.
  • Post topic and some commentary on the discussion on your site.
  • Tweak it until it to meet the style of your site.
  • Watch as you hijack the thread / discussion.

The only difference between Aaron’s description of the technique and Threadwatchs implementation it that Threadwatch is a “real time” strategy.
